Thread: Just another day & shave

Recently reached first anniversary with my lovely straights. No more honemoon feelings but little by little starting to create a good relationships. Knowing better the pros and cons of each one and having a good time.

Anyway.... I have been shaving a one year for now and mainly keeping up every day shaving routine. Some days I lost due to illness or so but I think you can forgive me that.
I normally shave in the morning and after shower. So not much time to do nothing but plain shaving. I don't use hot towels or any other extra things.
...or maybe couple of times in a year when I just want to spend extra time in bathroom.
I have two different ways to shave. First WTG + XTG. That is what I used the most, It's fast and gives me a enough good result. Another is naturally WTG + ATG. I use it randomly to go BBS or really close.
BBS is wonderful but the next day shave feels rough and that's the reason why I don't use ATG commonly. If I let the next day after ATG grow third day is much smoother but I lose second day shave. So result is to stay at WTG mainly and shave every day.
I have 18 straights and 12 of them are in every day rotation. Rest of waits better time sharpening, polishing or for some other reason I don't use them.
Last year I shave every day with different straight but this year I use one straight two weeks and change after that. Testing honing and stropping techniques. And of course learn more feelings about the razors.
Past year I have used all my soaps, creams, aftershaves, brushes etc. testing and letting to know how everything really feels. Check out the rotation list below if you are interested.
As I'm 42 years old now and have a pretty tough whiskers. Straights give me a best way to wrestle with theses wires.
Shaving with straights is a best way to start a day. A great way to meditate and graduate to meet what the day brings in front of.

This forum have been the most helpful and the most informational place to associate with straights world.
