Yet Another First Timer Here
Just finished my first straight razor shave. It was very enjoyable. I followed steps found on the site and everything went smooth. Used a newly honed Wade and Butcher for the job, with Bigelow Shave Cream. I used both hands, took my time and no cuts or nicks.
The part that made me the most nervous was under the chin. I seemed to have more success there when I kept the razor angled closer to my face, almost against it.
I had to keep lathering up to keep it from drying out. The more lather I put on the easier it seemed to be.
No razor burn. I used Aqua Velva for an after shave and it burned less using it than when I used my regular disposable razor.
All in all I'd call it a success.
Thanks to the site for your help and advice.Last edited by Miner123; 10-23-2009 at 12:33 AM.
