Default Question about Japanese style shaving

Japanese style razors and strops are frequent topics of discussion, but I was wondering about the rest of the process. Is anyone familiar with the rest of the traditional Japanese shaving regimen? I associate the hot towel, badger brush and scented shaving soap/cream routine with Western style shaving but there's no reason it couldn't have developed in the East as well.

    Anyone know?

Further to that, I would be interested to know if the shaving regime of a samurai compared differently with common people. I couldnt find any information in english online that went into any great detail.

Without really having a clue I would only guess that in the end their routine for shaving was very similar to the western routine. Just differences in the details.
