    Have I been warned?

I just bought a "Feather Professional" from
the fine folk at "Vintage Blades" on the web.

As I unpacked my package and checked to see
if my full order was there I spy one too many items.

Sure enough in the box was a no charge Styptic pencil
    compliments of "Vintage Blades".

    Have I been warned?

It could be a mistake in the order. Or, it could be a wise warning. Good luck with that feather shaving.

Not an error just a thank you gift in the package.

Ya know that a Styptic pencil from some high end shaving shops can cost $12.00
yet for $3.00 you can have one at the local pharmacy.

A tube of Neosporin(tm) and a Styptic pencil while not needed too often
    should be in any kit.

Jim's a good guy. It's a nice addition so you don't go thru a half a roll of TP trying to stop a bleeder.

I've never had one of those Feather straights to shave with. I hear they are very sharp. Hope you never need to uncap the styptic.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

What's with the "feather" shaver's anyways? I mean, why not shave with a nice piece of steel! Don't pretend to shave with a straight razor. No offense to the "feather" lover's.

    My dear Niftyshaving,

Many gentlemen fuss about the Feather's unforgiving nature. Of course, it is a sharp razor, but it is not as fearsome as its reputation. Just use extra care.

I use it only when traveling, or when short on time, since it does not require stropping and all the other care given a regular straight razor. I feel it never hurts to have one around for a straight razor shaver.

As for the styptic pencil, it is a nice compliment from a fine vendor. I like Vintage Blades — good people.

Oh, by the way, the Feather should never be a replacement for the regular straight razor. It's a different world. For one thing, the Feather misses the romance of the straight razor.

    Regards,
    Obie
