I'm new to str8's and know the area you are describing well. All the little details really make this happen for me: Beard prep, proper stopping, comfortable angle, a light touch and leading with the heel a bit. Before you know it, you'll be gliding right through.

Well, shaves have been getting better every week so I guess it'll just take time. Being a newb you kind of want to have a nice smooth shave from the start, but there definatley is a learning curve and you can't rush it. At least the shaves are getting better instead of worse. Thanks guys.
