Thanked: 16I guess he needed the strength of that knife to combat his dry beard. Have a look at his other videos though. Some of them are quite interesting: apparently you can strop on cardboard as its mildly abrasive. He even manages to hone a knife on a cinder-block and gets it to... cut an apple.

I have a new hero -- ME -- because I'm not stupid enough to try shaving with a knife or a machete like in one his other videos.

Maybe it's the quality of the steel but I just can't get my kitchen knives to pop hairs off my arm
