Thanked: 235Shaving by feel (aka I forgot my glasses)
Tonight at the gym while I was unpacking my stuff into my locker I realised that I had forgotten to bring my glasses. I wear contacts while I work out then remove them before the sauna. When it comes time to shave I normally put on my glasses.
Well today I was forced to shave without the benefit of being able to see clearly. To give you an idea about the condition of my eye sight, when I'm not wearing glasses or contacts I can not recognise people by their face unless they are close enough to kiss.
Anyway, the shave was fantastic. Lately I have been developing a bad habit of using far too much pressure. This seems to have been fixed by only being able to see a blurry outline of my face. Luckily the razor I chose to use today was a round point Dovo. I think if I had used one of my more blood thirsty square points this would have been a different post.
So while I wouldn't recommend this to newbies, I think it could be beneficial for any visually challenged straight user to have a go at shaving by feel.
And after all this I found my glasses tucked away in a pocket of my gym bag, so I was able to drive home.

Thanked: 5really @ this pt. 1+ yr into it I just need the mirror for that most dangerous part of all, when blade initially comes to skin. After a safe landing, the rest I've mastered by sense of touch alone.

I shave w/o my glasses also. They only get in the way. I do put them on when I trim around my mustache just so I don't shave it off completely. Came close once and that was enough.

I too shave without the glasses but it sounds like your eye sight is worse than mine. I wear large diameter lenses that would for sure get in the way and have had no issues with seeing what I need to see sans the cheaters.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
