Whats happened to my shave
This is my first year of shaving and iam 6 months in but something strange has happened to my shave. When i first began i was cautious didnt particularly get a good shave and had quite a few nicks.Nowadays i seem to go about my shave with less caution a much better shave and hardly ever any nicks?
So i was thinking my razor was sent shave ready and since then i have both stropped and honed it.So have i not quite got the edge back to how it was and this is letting me shave with less caution and fewer nicks or is it the fact i have learnt to relax more when shaving.I am even convincing myself i should be getting more nicks, can anyone shed some light on this phenomenon.

You have experienced learning. That change in performance through experience.
You have developed muscle memory and developed a technique to deal with everything that was a problem before. This is just a normal thing in life. Some people just do it faster than others.

It sounds as if the student has become a master, Congrats!

Read my sig below and do the opposite of what it suggests. Hope this helps.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1I came into this thread thinking that you were going to say that you were getting good shaves, then started getting crappy shaves. Not sure why you are amazed at getting better. Its kinda like posting a thread saying "I dunno why, but I can tie my shoes much better than when I first learned." I'm not trying to come across as rude, just mearly wondering.

Thanked: 267You have just given shaving the amount of attention that it deserves and you technique is better. You problably don't hold the razor like a stiff robot any more....stuff like that. There is always a caviot and that is if you do not watch it, she will bite you!
Familiarity breeds contempt. Be careful!
Take Care,
Richard

Actually, I bet its both. I find my razors are easier to use as they become less aggressive. But, with this ease in use is also a lessening of overall quality or an increase in pressure.
