Thanked: 7sometimes after a day and a half or two days after a str8t shave....
my face gets itchy a little. Is this because of bad str8t shaving technique, or is the natural, normal feeling of new whiskers growing in?

I have the same problem. Has happened with all the shaving methods that I have ever tried. Except for an electric. It sucks.

I have the same feeling. Been shaving with a straight for the past 4-5 months. I have always wet shaved in the course of a pretty long life. Don't ever remember this ichy feeling before.

I allway did and my family saw bones figured it out for me, just sensitive skin, I have some middle age acne, OK, Ol' mans acnee, and shaving products tend to irritate my face and yes some itching does occur. I now use all the requisite products, pre-shave, scented shaveing cream/soaps, shaving balms and what not, then the evening of the day of the shave I use a good face soap and facial scrub, put a little Neosporan anti-biotic on any nicks or weepers and just let the face heal for a day or so. And yes if I do my part and the razor does it's part, the kind of BBS I HOPEFULLY get means I don't or shouldent have to shave again for a good day or two. Hope that help, and have a great G/day!!
tinkersd of SRP.

Thanked: 20I get that feeling due to my face being drier after straight shaving. I think it is due to the extra exfoliation, and living in a very dry climate. problem solved by a bit of aloe if I don't shave that day (normally an every day shaver)
I use an aloe aftershave balm everyday, the thought of an alcohol splash makes my face hurt in this dry air. maybe when I move back to Oz I'll try it, where there is actuall moisture in the air.

Thanked: 199I don't have a problem like that. Think the closest thing for me is once my facial hair gets to a certain length it gets annoying and itchy, but that's probably around 1-2 weeks growth, maybe more.
How long does it last? Ever waited to see if it went away?
