Thanked: 1262It slices! It Dices! It...
Ruins my beautiful face!
So that last week I seem to have regressed a bit. I cut my self 4 out of the last 7 shaves, with 3 in a row now. These are not little nicks, but actual cuts.
You know the ones, wehre you feel the edge bite you a bit and wait for that red line to appear.
So.. I have no idea where these momentary lapses are coming from. Other than that the shave is close w/ no irritation.
Anyone else ever have relapses like this?

Yeah, I got bit a little while back while I was studying late. When I am doing research I get in a zone and when I'm done I need to do something to snap out of it, or I have a hard time getting my head right ... so I decided a 3:00am shave would be a good way to relax. The mental exhaustion combined with the caffein jitters I had helped me get a neat little cut right across the cheek about 1" long. It wasn't a bad cut at all, but I thought better of the shave and went to bed with the stubble.

Glad you didn't get cut any worse. It happens to the best of us! Sometimes I wonder if I will end up looking like the Mummy, covered in bandages, after a shave gone awry. I have found that if I can't get focused and stay focused on my shaving, I invariably cut myself . The worst cuts have come while trying to have a difficult conversation with SWMBO and shave at the same time...when will I ever learn! Thank God for the flinch reflex, it saves us all from stitches.

Yesterday, and In a BIG way!
I thougth I was past all the diceing and sliceing, not bloody way!! I did a great prep, Proraso pre shave, facial scrub, lots and lots O' hot water, some of Colleens best shaving soap, used a Dovo Shavette and for reasons known only to the gods themselves every other time I put the ruddy thing to my face I drew blood!! So my biggest and most sincere sympathy brother wet shaver, it was worse because the last 6 or more shaves I didn't even get what would be called a bad nick, some weepers of course but nothing to get all bumped up about. And useing a variety of str8's and even the shavette. Don't feel bad, and when I heal, in possibly 6 or 8 day'!!, I'll jump right back on the horse and shave again, adictiing ain't it?? And I have a question for any and all, in the middle of my misadventure of blood sport yesterday, I was having some difficulty getting the bleeding to stop useing two type of Alum compounds, powered and stick, I know I'm not a bleeder, medicaly any way, has anyone else found this to be true, albiete the nicks were fairly deep, but it took much more time than I thought, or any one else waiting for the loo thought it should take for heamostasis should occur. Just to add sauce for the goose.
Have a great day and don't be discouraged, just another bump in the learning curve, for both of us!!
tinkersd of SRP!!

Sounds like you guys want to join the Freddy Kruger fan club by looking like him.
I haven't cut myself seriously in years and the times I get nicks are always when either I'm not focused or in a hurry or my wife opens the closet door on me while I'm shaving. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Every now and then my griffon likes to sneek up and give me a little slice with its talon (e.g. spike point) just to remind me it like a little attention.
