Superglue
Wow! I really did it. I mean, I sliced my ear just perfectly....layed it open like I was fileting a fish.
So, my erstwhile blade slingers: superglue. The only thing that stopped the bleading. Consider it and use it. Holds where no bandage will.
Best....J

Thanked: 7Absolutely. I use super glue for all my nasty cuts. I use the thicker gel type, and it forms a sort of skin over the would. By the time the superglue wears off, the would is healed. It keeps out all the nasty gunk, and I think it makes it heal much faster than just covering it with a band aid.

Thanked: 0I have a tube of superglue in every first aid kit, it really is the best bandage for slice-style wounds and I've found it heals much much quicker too.

me love super glue
If your fingertips are prone to cracking in the winter, superglue to the rescue. Get the kind with a brush in the bottle. Cracks disappear, no pain, no bleeding, finding this out was a blessing. Use an emery board as things heal to smooth the area.
Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

I sharpen knives...a lot.
So, by the nature of their use, my fingers have gotten "nicked" several times. No big deal.
A few times they've been out-right filleted!!!
Run to the sink, wash, hydro peroxide....and SUPERGLUE GEL!!!!
Hands down better than any bandage. Had kept me from having to get stitches at least 3 times. I dare say it does a much better job than stitches also. Although the last time I had stitches was childhood.

Yep! SG works good. Use it all the time. Started when I worked in the ER. Many ER docs are using it now. I use it all the time in lieu of getting stitches. Can't say I advise that.

Thanked: 1936Superglue in all (auto & home) first aid kit is something that I highly recommend. I had a framing subcontractor to lay his leg open with a skil saw, bad. It held it all together lessening blood loss until we got him to the hospital. ER doc said it was a good move.

Thank you and God Bless, Scott

Thanked: 6I use some stuff called "New Skin" for those bad cuts. It's a cross between super glue and fingernail polish, and it's antiseptic. It's in a bottle with a brush and just a little dab'll do ya! Works like a champ on the occasional deep cut when you rush the shave or your mind is elsewhere and you have an oops moment. Ever notice how you hear the mistake way before you feel it, if you feel it at all?
