Possibly the same reason I will never own, nor use, an Ipod, bluetooth, or the like. I do own a basic (the one that came free with the service) cell phone for emergencies, and to keep in touch with my family, but I can't remember just how many times I've been tempted to throw the thing in the trash.

Now while I love shaving with a straight I also love my ipod, bluetooth and cell phone. When I am tired of them I just shut them off.

Exactly! I pay for the phone for my convenience, not someone elses.

and on topic: pretty much every reason I can think of has been said. The few friends I have that would love to use one only have to shave every month or two.
