Thread: W&B Gentleman's razor, great shaver?

I just test shaved with the W&B Gentleman's razor and again it was a superb shaver.

I thought maybe it was honing luck the first time but this time I had to re-establish the bevel after giving the blade a real make over (see thread). So luck can be ruled out. The honing also went as last time with the heel half comming on line last.

The only razor I have that rivals shaving smoothness is the Pierre Thiers collectible. Most blades, including the other TI 6/8 and W&B Celebrated Razor noticeably bog down on the chin whiskers. This one and the P.T. collectible don't.

Does anyone else have this razor and find it great or is this just a lucky blade?

I don't know this for sure but I'm betting it's simply sharper than the others. But then again, as a relative novice at straight razor and wet shaving in general...what the heck do I know?
