Thanked: 0Thank a lot for the tip with back up razor. I do to receive requests that require quick reaction and will lead to shorter workout. I did not use my DE for more than 10 years for now, so will stick to M3 and see how far it will get me (even though I did not use that one in 4 months already).
Nice site. I'm going to pick up some soap in the travel container as well.
What do you think about blow drying razor after wiping it off. Could it do more harm than good?
Thanks a lot!
Sergei

cmart,
++1 on the advice in Obie's posts.
In addition to the travel tube for your brush--several of which I own to store my collection of shaving brushes--the same internet store that sells those brush holders also has leather travel sheaths for non-TI str8 razors.
You may also want to check your local drugstore for plastic toothbrush holders. I have read here in other SRP posts that members sometimes use those to store razors when traveling.
Whatever you do, make sure that you allow your razor and brush to dry in the open air when you get home each day. Dry the blade thoroughly and oil it frequently as in 2-3 times a week, especially where the blade is connected to the scales, and you shoudln't have any serious problems with rust."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Shaving in the gym
My dear Sergei:
You are very welcome. Yes, bestgroomingtools.com is a good site and Rob, the owner, a good man.
When you blow dry the razor, make sure you use the cold air feature. I have started doing this recently after having found my old hair dryer. Since I float through life nowadays with my top down, so to speak, I have new use for the hair dryer. I use the cold air feature of the hair dryer to dry the pivot area of my razors.
Stay well and thanks.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 267I carry a small oil applicator in the kit so that when I am done shaving, I can apply oil to the blade and have no worries. I am also a believer that an edge with oil on it will not oxidize as much and thus last longer between needed touch-ups.
Take Care,
Richard

Thanked: 235I shave at the gym at least three times a week. I pack my gym bag after work when I'm ready to go to the gym. I strop my razor at home and I also take a small loom strop with me to the gym. After the shave I use the hair dryer at the gym to blow dry both my razor and brush.
I also make sure I put everything away as soon as I get home.

Thanked: 150I also shave at the gym, but I have a locker where I keep my stuff. I also use a Dovo Shavett for the gym, because i did not want to wory about the humidity in the locker room rusting out my straights. Brush, bottle of Omega, and my shavett. that's it. Oh, and I too sit in the steam prior to shaving. Makes it heavenly.
