Thanked: 198head shave and an alum block
ok, here is a good question for all you more seasoned head shavers than I. Is it a wise idea to use an alum block on your scalp after you shave it, or should i put that thought out of my head before i actually give it a shot.

I can't say for sure as I don't use alum, but I don't see any harm in it aside from some possible stinging.
When I finish shaving my head, I'll rinse with cold water and apply regular witch hazel. Once it's dry I'll use my aftershave; either bay rum or TGQ's after shave sample.

Ive been using an alum block on my face for the last 3 months. I haven't had a day or razor burn since. I dont see it harming your head after a shave. Im a barber and do quite a few of them. Never had an issue

Thanked: 198currently commiecat, i use the witch hazel, and then i use aveeno moisturizing cream, usually even on my face, my only aftershave is the thayers lemon witch hazel. dont feel the need for a fancy aftershave, who am i gonna smell nice for, my wife thinks if i use it, im going on a hot date. lolol. and usually im just going to work, so no need.

Head shave
I shave 3 heads a week; I only use alum if they’re bleeding small spots all over (septic if it's a cut) ops…. I use Thayer’s witch hazel they pick the sent, and follow it up with a good a/s, (good as in feel the burn), and last a good moisturizing lotion. Unless they need sun block?

I've been using alum since i found out about it about a month ago and use it all over my head. However i do have a small spray of alcohol that i find kills any soreness i might be experiencing
