Yes, it rules, yes it's addictive, yes it gets expensive......
Have fun! Congrats!

Congrats for your 1st BBS!
In time you will learn to perform all these things almost like a walk in a park. There are days when there's uncle Zen watching you, smiling. But not every day. Little by little things are getting faster as well, although the time is not important here.

Thanked: 33Hi BladeRunner001,
Having read your previous threads it's obvious that you really have been chasing down the dream!!
And now you have it in your grasp-the elusive BBS shave!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
I think you will agree it's the greatest feeling to have achieved it - and your face feels so smoooooth!!
I also agree with you re-ZEN,when you are shaving you disappear into your own world-and time seems to stand still (which is why i shave in the evening cos it takes too long in the morning!).
Anyway well done and hope you have many more BBS shaves.
Best regards
Noggs

Thanks Noggs,
I tell you...I never imagined shaving would be fun or get me in a Zen like state, much less this quickly. I just hope it's not too meditating where I end up spending all my waking hours shaving or dreaming about shaving .
It's weird, some days I find myself wishing that my beard would grow faster so I can try another shave (with a different technique or something) .
Cheers,
-Robert

Thanked: 23What is the difference between Shaving and Poker?
In shaving, a Straight wins every time.
My first straight BBS shave wasn't that long ago. It IS meditative and often mentally productive to shave with a straight. I look forward to it and feel annoyed if I have to rush out of the house, requiring a quick DE shave. I much prefer taking the little extra time to shave with a straight.

I also h8 rushing things...In fact, I have packed my two DE razors so I force myself to use the str8. Unless there's an early AM meeting (which is rare...I try scheduling everything after 10AM), I take my time with str8 shaving (then the DEs come out). It's definitely become a ritual with me, which I enjoy very much. Believe it or not, my wife enjoys it too...I don't know what she gets out of it, but she says it makes her feel good to see me feel good. Hmmmm!!!
