    Default New Guy

    Hello everyone,
I am enthusiastically interested in the art of shaving with a straight razor. Luckily I have found an abundance of good information in the responses you guys have had to other rookies' questions. Once my paypal transfer clears, I will be ordering one of the starter kits from thewellshavedgentleman.com and I look forward to my first attempt at a shave. I guess I am just trying to introduce myself and warn that I may have some questions once I get my gear. Hopefully the questions won't include things like, "Is arterial blood light or dark?" At any rate, I am glad to have found a forum full of people who know their stuff and can hopefully guide me through the basics without any undue scarring.

Welcome to the club, Justin. Hope you dig it here.

I never paid any attention to the colour. I am more impressed by the squirting pulses of the blood from an artery. That's how I tell.

Thanks for the welcome. I am sure I will shed my fair share of blood in the learning process, but I am still optomistic. Anything is better than having a constantly irritated neck courtesy of Gillette.

Welcome nastyman. I also purchased one of Tony's starter kits and I've been a happy straight razor shaver for a couple of months now.
