3rd shave....
Ok, well I shaved with the razor Lynn gave me again making this my third straight shave. I noticed pulling from the blade this shave and I did not notice that on the last shave with this razor. About half way through the shave I adjusted my soap mixture to make it more wet and this seemed to help with the hair pulling quite a lot. Any idea what else can cause pulling from a very sharp blade? I am wondering if I am pulling away from my face thus pulling hairs out? I only really notice this around my chin area, but I never noticed it with the DE (of course a DE is much more forgiving).
Decided to go with and cross, but not against the grain this time which will allow me to shave more often and give my skin a chance to rest more between shaves until I get my technique down to the point where I am not pulling hairs, as that does irritate my skin. I did nick myself twice today, but nothing that rinsing with cold water didnt take care of.
I also realized I was out of aftershave this time so my skin doesnt feel as good as normal after a shave

Make sure you are keeping the soap on your face wet. If it starts to get a little dry and flaky re-apply to keep those whiskers wet, moist & easy to cut. Check your stropping too -- nice, slow, light strokes on a taught hanging strop. Speed kills. Consistency is the key. The chin is a real booger when starting. Make sure you're getting a good stretch. You might also check your angle of attack, which can be hard to maintain with all the curves on the chin. You might divide your chin into zones and focus just on one area at a time.

JL,
If you only noticed it around the chin area, then don't
worry about it. Just relather and take your time.
The chin is the hardest part to shave. Some days
seem to go better than others.

Could also be your angle while shaving the chin.

thanks. Yes I noticed that the straight is MUCH more dependent on wet lather than the DE was. I'll just take it slow, the rest of my face and neck shaves fine.
