Thread: pre-shave coffee

my normal routine, when i shave, is to shave in the morning after a shower and before breakfast. And have coffee with breakfast.
Yesterday i had extra time (taking vacation for spring break ) so i had a cup of coffee before my shower and without eating anything.
I could not believe how shaky my hand was for the shave! I have been a 2-5 cup a day person for years, But I guess my system cant handle it on an empty stomach, wow.

I'm always concerned about shaving after alcohol, not only because it loosens up the muscles, but because it also thins the blood. That's another good reason to shave early in the morning because by 11:00 I could be drunk already.

Although I still love a good cup of coffee (used to drink 2+ pots/day), I've pretty much switched to tea. However, recently with family visiting I brewed a pot of coffee one morning. I had one cup prior to my shower/shave and I was appalled/frightened by how much my hand was shaking as I tried to shave. I got through a quick one-pass no touch-up shave, but determined that I'll not be drinking any more coffee before a straight shave again. I'd rather shave without pants on .

Just think: Gillette charges extra for vibrating blades!

One more reason I hold off on the double ristrettos until after the shave.

I shouldn't talk smack though...being on Midnights I've been known to be roasted before 10AM on occasion. I flip my balisongs under the influence but I'm not sure I'd brave the razor...at least the worst my balis can do is nick a finger.

I usually have one cup before showering and shaving. Any more then that, and I'm skipping the shave.
