I've seen this video before but it's always interesting to watch, thanks.

Bazz, I edited the link in your post because it was messing up the formatting. Should display fine now.

I love watching this video. But what strikes me is that there are not a lot of young people involved in this.

We have spoken about this in other threads. These skills are not being passed on to young guys. What happens when they are all gone.

I'm not talking about custom razor makers. I think there will always be those. But a large company like DOVO is supplying many of the high quality affordable razors that the beginners and seasoned pros as well use.

I appologize for hijacking your thread. I just wanted to point this out.

I like that dual wheeled grinder that does the hollowing.

That was fun to watch! I love shows like How It's Made, and it's even better when it's featuring something I'm interested in. The only way it could have been better is if I could speak German, haha.

I've watched that video so many times. It's amazing.

Regarding this video and the Livi honing videos and the video of the barber named Liam(?) stropping...

It's funny how advice given so routinely in this forum is just plain shot to heck in those videos. For example, in the Dovo video, the guy pins the razor with just a few hard whacks on each side. Don't they know this is wrong? These Dovo guys really need to join SRP to find out the right way to do this stuff!

    Uh oh.

That was a mistake watching that. Now I want one.

How interesting, I wonder how much of that process has changed in the last 100 years?

That is well worth someone putting on some English subtitles. Watching was cool enough but I'd like to know what the people in the factory were saying.
