Default The Best I Ever Had

well it may not come as a surprise to some that the guy from the midwest likes it cold, but i tried an all cold water shave today, from prep to rinse with icy cold water. It was the best shave ive ever had. BBS is two passes (with a little touch up on the back of my jaw).

I loved the cold water shave. and it will really wake u up in the morning too. haha

Default The Best I Ever Had

    Hello, mcjacob:

I agree with hi_bud_gl: go with what works best for you. I, too, dislike cold-water shaving (I did it enough of it in Vietnam), but others like it. You obviously feel it is right for you. That's how it should be. Go with it.

    Regards,
    Obie

I was disappointed to find that the topic of this thread was not what I hoped it would be!

Oh well. I've compared the two temperature extremes and find no difference in the quality of the shaves. Therefore, for the sake of the planet, I have transitioned to cold water shaves.

When i used to save my face with plastic gillettes i always used hot water because if not the beard was very difficult tu cut. Now with well sharpened straight razors and gillette superspeed i can shave my face with cold water, and i am beggining to believe that this is the way to go

I switch back and forth between hot and cold shaves pretty often. I am glad you liked the cold water! I usually stick with hot though, I like how the razor mows through the hairs better than it does with cold which seems to make the blade grip more than I like. Either way the results are usually good shaves! Cheers!
