    Default Just keeps getting better

Last night was probably my best shave yet with a straight. Although still not as close as my DE's, it was still a really good shave with no irritation. On top of that, I got as good a shave with only a WTG and XTG as I have been with two WTG and XTG. My stropping technique, on top of bettering my actual shaving technique, has definitely improved which I think has also attributed to my better shaves as well. I can feel the difference in the blade now as compared to my first few shaves. Also, the one I'm using now is one I honed myself and the edge now compared to when I honed it feels better and glides smoother. I know after my first few straight razor shaves I was a little discouraged because of the irritation and pain I had afterwards which is something I've never experienced before with any type of shaving. I'm glad I've stuck with it and am now seeing the results.

It's great to hear your progress. I am over two months into SR shaving and have finally put away the Gilette Fusion for good. There have been a few times where I had "setbacks" with painful, irritating shaves, however, I know now that not all of my blades were "shave ready" so it was not my technique or prep.

At times I got discouraged as well, but like you, I am so glad I stuck with it.
