Congratulations on a successful shave! I always enjoy hearing a first shave story that involves no blood.

Congrats! Typically the astringent/aftershave burning will let you know if you're too aggressive, but also keep in mind that it could very well just be because it was your first shave with a straight. Either way, if the burn was pretty harsh then try to let the skin heal for a day before shaving again.

We have a few head shavers on the forum. I did it for a few months but recently took up using a DE for my head. It definitely helps if you get your face down pat before trying the head but if you stick with doing it all with a straight then do keep a styptic handy. Nicks on the head tend to bleed like crazy!

It's good to hear a positive first shave story as opposed to a "my razor pulled and it hurt and now I have massive razor burn & a crappy shave" story. Congrats.
