Default Flipped grip (index finger on tang)

I've started out with a Parker SR removeable blade setup. After 6-7 weeks, I'm happy with the results and I don't remember seeing blood in a couple weeks.

One issue that I'm curious about is visibility when doing the sides and cheeks. I started out using the #1 grip shown in the grip photos page, but right away got rather flustered since my hand ended up between my face and the mirror. I couldn't see all of the blade. By twisting and shifting I could see some of it, but an ear nick convinced me that I really wanted to see all of it.

One day I played around for a few minutes and came up with the following: Index finger on top of the tang, middle finger on top of the shank, ring finger either on top or bottom of the shank, and as usual, the pinky kind of waving around helplessly (the Parker SR is a bit smaller than a regular straight razor). When shaving the cheeks, this puts the hand back near the ear, completely out of the line of sight. I do the weak-hand side with my weak hand the same way.

I feel no loss of fine control, perhaps because the razor is a bit shorter than normal. I do change back to grips #1 and #5 for the "middle portions" all the way from the nose to the adam's apple since there's no loss of sight there.

I poked around this forum and a few others, but found no other pictures or descriptions of this. Is it really that uncommon?
