I THINK IVE GOT IT !!!!
Today I have had an epiphany-all the good and great shaves Ive had paled in comparison.Let me start at the beginning,a month and a half ago I bought a "practice razor" with a faint marking of what looked like a bow,as in bow and arrow,to start honing and get my mojo working. As a kid the Sunday chores were shine the old mans shoes, grate the cheese for the week and sharpen the knives,as such I'm no stranger to sharpening knives, but the next step to razors was going to take some practice ,I read a lot of posts and watched a lot of videos and spent tons of time practicing on old no name until yesterday. After using the set of Norton's I had bought and spending about an hour with the 8000,I felt the blade and KNEW!!! it was time for the strop, about fifty swipes with the linen, and the same with the leather,I gave it a try, lathered up waited a minute and gave it a swipe,I thought I had missed my face until I looked in the mirror, the cheek was CLEAN! this thing felt like it was barely touching my face, after this shave which was BBS,I stropped it and put it away with a new awe for what REALLY sharp and smooth was,now I think I'm ready to smooth out my Boker.Ill post a picture of old no name soon on the show and tell forum, but the lesson learned is take your time and read what these moderators have to say ,I think they know what there talking about
thanks

By Jove I think he's got it!
That "bow" May be a "Wade & Butcher Bow" razor

Congrats on the honing & the BBS shave.
Your no name could well be a Wade & Butcher Bow razor. Congrats again
Ah ya beat me to it Mark. LOL...The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Do you really think so? It has no markings excpt the marking that looks like a bow,and nothing else,is there any way to find out as I was suprised at the edge it eventually took, really sharp and smooth
Thanks

Some pics might give us a clue.
