Your right kind of gross, but very informative! Thanks for the picture.

DAMN! I'm sure your face actually looks very clean and smooth, but the zoomed up shot is just really nasty for some reason. The hairs look like lesions that were cut open.

Gentlemen:
That picture is the perfect exhibit to step away from BBS. For myself, I am so enthralled with the ritual of wet shaving with the straight razor that BBS is of little importance. Whether I get BBS or not means little to me. Did I enjoy the ritual? That's what matters.

Obie

Imagine looking at an SEM of your face. You'd run for the hills.

A collaborator and I use a lot of "biofilm" specimen under TEM and SEM for analyses, but never would I want to do that with something I enjoy or for that matter, my face . Come to think of it, I think at some point, I did do that (with scrapes off my (or his) skin. This was ages ago. Hmmmm ...gotta see if I can find those pictures in the archives somewhere) and really gross you guys out
With the same token, put any small, unassuming bug under enough magnification and it'll be like watching "Aliens".

This is perfect Obie. We're all so worried about perfection nowadays, but why did we start using straights? For enjoyment. It reminds me of those commercials advertising charcoal; their slogan is "slow down and grill." Sometimes we need to stop, take a step back, and go back to basics. Love it.
