Thank You, Omni
I've spent alot of energy learning to stroke over and around jawline, keeping a 30 deg angle, thinking that was somehow the skill to master. I must admit that the vids of the barbers DO show a very very shallow blade angle.
I'm glad to have this knowledge. For now, it takes much longer, using the full hollow (except a monster 15/16). I'll master that, but must pay my dues to get the stroke down.
I cannot disagree w/ the correction I've gotten on this. If those w/ skills can make the small light blade work regardless of load, that pretty well establishes it. That said, back in the tool analogy, it also confirms the light small tool isn't the best for taking the 'rough cut' (first pass which clears most of the stubble). That only the very skilled can do it says that technique is making up for limitations of the tool. Still, there's no substitute for skill with good technique. When I get discouraged w/ the hollow, I retreat to the heavier blade for encouragement, and later, try the same moves w/ the hollow. The skill will come. Perseverance or Stupidity (not knowing when to quit) both work. I'm pretty determined.
Thanks again, Omni and All. I now have a huge tool to try - flattening the angle alot when running into heavy mowing. I appreciate your kind help.

Coincidence?
I can't attribute all of this difference to simply changing to cold water, but I tried the most flexy full hollow on the same day I tried cold water. The shave was easy. I noted that a lighter touch than I was used to was all that was required. To follow up, I shaved the next day w/ a full hollow Genco (fluid steel). Same thing.
Another thing that helped was some confusion I let go of. 'Having watched the vids on angles, I was trying to keep a 30 deg angle on all of the face, and that's just not realistic in heavy grass, sensitive skin on tight corners, etc. So I did correct a pretty glaring mistake there.
'Shaved w/ a full hollow a total of 5 times since the last post. If I do my part, it does it's part. They're definitely more fussy than the heavier grind or the taller blade. One 13/16 full hollow gives no trouble at all, but it has very little flex.
Thank You again, Gents!

The flexy's do take perfect technique on thick stubble but sounds like you reached a milestone. Congrats
