The Puffer Fish
Hi All-Though my fat cheeks have always been relatively easy to shave, I added a new twist to my stretching routine tonight:
That's right: I puffed air into them, learning quickly that I could vary and control the tautness and location of the air, thus getting a new level of baby softness in my cheeks. After lathering up with the greatest shaving cream of them all-you guessed it, THE MIST (Godrej menthol, that is), and some careful strokes on my first hone, the Franz Swaty (thanks Dusty!), I was in sweet menthol and lanolin heaven. A nice, refreshing rub-down with ice cubes, and some Tuscany ASB is a fine way to end a weekend of hard work.
I'm not sure if I'm experienced enough yet to know if the Swaty is doing my Fili 12's edge any good, but it sure didn't seem to hurt; the follow-up with CrOx'd linen, colored newsprint, and a vigorous session on linen and latigo smoothed things out nicely. Well, that's my report. AaronThere are many roads to sharp.

I never gave it a name, but that works pretty well on the "hollows" of my cheeks without messin' with regular stretching.

I do that too - puff and stretch. Works great for me, as well.

Thanked: 1195Actually, that technique works great no matter what type of razor you use: straight, DE or cartridge/disposable.
Although I must admit I have no idea about electrics....

Hi,
I have a hollow area just away from my mouth, and the 'puffing' technique is the only way I can get a good pass there
Face pulling is called 'gurning' in the UK Gurn - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia;
I don't know if it is called the same in the States !
Have fun !

Yep!
I do the same "puffing" procedure every shave, along
with a bit of "gurning".
Works for me, too!"If you come up to it, and you just can't do it, then that's jolly well where you are."

Thanked: 983Keep up the whole face pulling thing and get good at it, because there are actual competitions in 'Gurning', or pulling the ugliest face...
