    Default I regret...

....that I have but one face to shave, that my beard only grows enough in a single day to shave once. Damn, I'm having so much fun with straight razors, I'm thinking of adding Rogaine to my Uberlather so that my facial hair grows more densely.

Seriously, that little bit of "my time" in the bathroom in the morning is terrific. I pamper myself, spend some quiet contemplative time doing what used to be a daily drudgery, and enjoy the shave from the moment I'm dousing my face with hot water, to that final splash with witch hazel (I happen to love using witch hazel as a finishing touch). Then, for hours after I can feel the effects of a nice clean, close shave, confident that I'm nicely groomed.

Is it an endorphin response to the pleasures of straight razor shaving? I think so!

A nicely articulated description of how I'm sure most if not all of us regard our shave

I like the time. ALOT. But it's not so much the pampering time as needing the practice. As one Olympic champion said: Those of us w/ no talent can make up for it w/ alot of hard work. For me, that means practice, and I only shave more than once at my face's peril. Until I get better, I'll wish I could shave at least 2-3x per day.

Not that I had a nice mustache to begin with, but I shaved it off when I started with straights just so I'd have an extra square inch to shave.
