Ron is so good he honed one of my razors without even touching it.

He told me exactly what to do, step by step, and I did it, and got a very fine shaver!

Ditto on that offer! That is very generous of Utopian. Being somewhat new to the forurm, you might be apprehensive about sending your razor to someone you don't know personally, but you won't be disappointed with the results once you get your razor back.

I have to agree,that's a very generous offer,and if you've never shaved with a properly sharpened edge,your in for a real eye opener.I learned many ,many years ago,and have used a shavette for many of them,when I finally got one of my razors to the point where it passed the HHT,it was like a religious experience,these guys know what there talking about,when I finally got it,it was amazing.Were I you I would take him up on this very nice offer

Given the number of horror stories I read here, I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling when I hear about someone getting their razors honed in a "shop." Too often that involves a grindstone and a ruined or at least dull razor. The fact that they didn't get it right the first time means their ability is questionable at best. You might want to let someone else hone it for you.

The fact that you can shave with a shavette suggests to me that, no it's not you. I'd like to make sure you get off to a good start with a real razor. I'll hone it for you for the price of return postage. If you're interested, just send me a PM.

It finally worked!
