Default It must be the phase of the moon...

Maybe it's the phase of the moon...or maybe some
fortuitous conjunction of stars and planets...I dunno.
But the same thing happened for me today!

I didn't do anything special or unusual, but what a shave!

Of course, it helps to relax and take your time, use a
primo razor (honed by gssixgun), rinse and re-lather
before each of 3 passes, and give the razor a bit of
light stropping (on MickR's roo-hide strop) while the
    lather does it's magic.

No kidding...on the 3rd (ATG) pass I thought that I
had wrecked the edge by stropping too much...the
razor just glided over the skin, with nary a "buttering
    toast" sound.

Wrong! There were just no whiskers left to remove!

    A truly memorable shave.

    Thanks, Glen and Mick!

    Congratulations and many happy returns!
There's many variables that make a bad hair day or a good shave day.

Apart from the variables quoted invariably, i.e. good quality razor, good honing, stropping and skin preparation there is a number of variables that I found to contribute to a good shave day:

    1. a good night's sleep
    2. not being hung over
    3. not having a cold nor being fluey
    4. using the same razor every day instead of using a different razor every morning. That way you get to know your razor much better.

No one that hadn't tried to master the blade would possibly understand the kind of satisfaction that brings. Savor it. It really does make for a fine day. 'Hope many more follow.

    Love it when that happens.
