Thanked: 124The coochie razor that I built, Tiny Tim, ended up with a spike point because I had cut down a blade that was damaged at the toe to make it. I blunted the very tip of the spike, and have been very pleased by the result.

with respect I feel its akin to vandalizing the razor , molesting it aint the way to go you be better off mastering it as the bigspender suggests , but its your razor to do as you please with

Thanked: 0what's wrong with "muting" it? the only way i could see that it would shave differently would be a benefit (i.e. not cutting you). what is the advantage to a spike?

Well, many would tell you a spike is superior for getting into tight areas and doing precision shaving.
If your going to use a straight there is always an increased chance of mishaps over a cartridge or a DE so since you are making the commitment to learn the straight you may as well go all the way and master all straights. Also once the edge is altered, well it's an altered blade.
