The youtube shaving videos are mostly fun and sometimes educational. Johnnytastetest is the coolest shaving vid on the net. I like the music and the attitude but would not emulate the acquisition of a buzz whilst wielding a straight razor. Geofatboy and Chimensch's shaving vids are very educational for the straight razor and Chimenschs vid shows a technique that is backward to how I do it. Love the sponge idea for cleaning the blade also. Of course Mantic is the shave guru of the DE and the guy most responsible for my finally getting rid of cartridges and goo, other than my own dissatisfaction with them. Just shows there are many ways to engage in the manly ritual from the young long hairs to the geezers.

I was watching a video of an old man giving a straight shave on youtube and was just super impressed with the speed and agility he had when giving the shave... that is until I saw the speed and agility he needed to apply all the styptic...

so what did I learn from that video... slow and steady wins the race
