Thursday Jan 6th
Dovo 5/8th full hallow ground round point all stainless Inox, badger brush, Vulfix sandalwood SC, Dickinson's witch hazel, Truefitt and Hill 1805 ASB. Cold shave again, only this time I decided to try and tackle the dreaded 3 pass shave. AMAZING! This is how shaving was meant to be. I am by no means a very experienced straight razor shaver, but buy luck or mercy from god himself I was able to make 3 passes, with no cuts or nicks, and NO razor burn to speak of. Now my face is baby butt smooth and I am on cloud nine. I know this shave today would not have been possible if not for all the fantastic gentlemen on this site and all their wonderful posts to aid this little nub along. Thank you all.

Congratulations on your success, but beware. You might be just at the point I was yesterday when I had my best (and fifteenth) straight shave yet. I was on cloud nine too, but it turned out to be a storm cloud which portended of the nightmare shave I had this morning. Tomorrow I'll be at it again, but I'll be in "be careful, fool" mode. We live and learn.
Pride, they say, goeth before a fall.
I wish this morning I'd heard that call.
But proudful I was and proceeded to shave,
and now I'm bloody and somewhat less brave.

I love reading posts like this. Its shaves like this that make me wonder why so few men shave with a straight.
Congrats on your penultimate shave. There is no turning back now.

Thanked: 1Apart from guys on this forum I have never met a living soul in flesh who shaves with a straight razor. My brother in law thinks shaving with a straight is 'sooooo cool' but he never took the plunge.
The truth is, after initial (modest) investment this method of shaving can be the most economical method to shave.
The only problem is this: straight razor shaving can be an addictive hobby and there are so many nice razors, brushes, soaps etc out there... hmmmmmmmmm....
