    Glenn24, I think what you are saying it just how it is for me also. The stubs feels "prickier" when they arrive when I shave with a DE than they do with a Straight.

    What a fabulous thread and a great experiment! Thank you for justifying the time spent learning how to shave "properly" Personally I've not used my fusion since switching to straights and have no intention to switch back. Ryan

    I suspect, if you think about it, that you are probably not as careful about stretching the skin when you use a D/E. (I know I don't worry about it as much.) If true, then you slice the hairs at more of an angle to the shaft when shaving with a D/E, versus the almost perpendicular cut you're making with a straight using good skin stretching. The regrown hairs from a D/E shave will have a "point" to them, while the regrown hairs from a straight shave are more "flat-topped".

    I think that's probably what you're feeling.
