Default My First Straight Razor Shave - First Impressions

Both of my new (first) SRs came in the mail today along with a new (old) strop!

I took everyone's advice and only did my cheeks and the straight sides of my neck. I alternated razors.

ONE WTG PASS ON MY CHEEKS GOT ME SMOOTHER THAN 3 PASSES WITH MY MACH 3! Why doesn't everyone do this?!

I was so scared at first, but one I got that first nick out of the way (that point is really sharp!) it all went smooth.

And I want to officially start a movement to name the sound that a SR makes as it cuts whiskers as the manliest sound ever.

    Ahhh yes

The sound of scrapping toast with a butter knife!

You may soon forego morning cereal for cold toast and coffee just to relive the sound a second time

I'm a newb myself & what I've been doing is finishing up with my DE & then doing all touch-ups with the straight. I don't know what the pros on board think of that, but my left overs are always in some tricky spots so I'm able to concentrate on one spot & get a little practice on handling & maintaining angle.
