lesson learned...
know where the razor is at all times... lesson learned.
this morning I stopped paying attention during a shave and as I was transferring the razor from the right side of my face to the left side of my face I drew the blade across the lower part of my neck in a slicing motion. nice.
it turned out to be an inconsequential injury and a very nasty cut but I bet it could have been real bad.

Definitely one of the first things you learn when straight shaving. Good to hear it wasn't anything catastrophic.

Thanked: 1A smart man learns from his mistakes, a wise man learns from others. I will have to keep that in mind when I get my razors back from the member honing them for me. Glad you're alright. As a nurse that would be a strange and terrible thing to see somebody come to the hospital from a "shaving accident". Might be hard to explain to some people...

Murphy's law can be a brutal teacher if you don't stay focused while shaving with a straight.

Lesson Learned
Gentlemen:
I regard the straight razor as the queen and I its subject. In her presence I remain humble and watch my manners.
