    Default Beard or Baby-Butt smooth???

For the last few months I have been growing my beard out and usually do so in the winter months. Problem is I just started honing and the only area I can truly test my skills or "lack of" is by shaving under my neck.

Love my facial fur but every time I shave it's like my straight is tempting me "go ahead, take a trip up North and lets trim that three month growth".

And to top it off the other day I ate lunch at Wendy's then went back to the office. A few hours later I hit the latrine and realize I was walking around work for about three hours with a sesame seed stuck in my "facial forest". Nice, now all I hear at work is "hold the bun". Anyways, random thoughts...... thanks for listening, cheers!

shave that beast off! get a nice aftershave balm and you'll be fine during the winter months.

I wore a mustache for years, decades, and when I began wet shaving I finally shaved it off just to have something else to shave. Everyone said I looked younger. Not doing me a hell of a lot of good at my age but I've never grown the mustache back. Having a beard would be a sore temptation for me to shave it and isn't trimming around a beard or goatee more of a hassle than just shaving it all ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well my Henckels Discovery won out and finally had a hay day with the beard. Before I used a SR I would always have to use trimmers first and then shave the stubble after......Not with my straight, like a hot knife through butter. Left a handlebar mustache for a day and just for fun. Shaved it off this morning and once again have clean shaven mug all over. Already missing the beard after taking the pupp for walk this morning in 7 degree weather!

Probably go with the chin strap / Abe Lincoln next. That way I still have somewhat of a beard and my SR still sees some action!

I love a BBS shave with facial hair that is 4+ days old. So, I doubt that a beard is in my future.

    Well, that settles that!

IMO there is nothing wrong with having a beard, especially if you have to work outside in the winter. Trust me folks, no aftershave balm in the world is going to make your clean shaven face feel nice after a few minutes of -25 C excluding windchill (that's -13 F for our American friends).

But that being said, as a straight shaving brother, eventually the beards gotta go.....
