Just last Friday I gave myself a pretty good slice on my lower right cheek. I was shaving XTG and my right (dominant hand) was stretching. As I began to release the pressure to reapply pressure closer to the razor my left hand mover about 1/4 inch in the wrong direction. I ended up with a 3/4 inch gash that was rather deep. I was able to get the bleeding to stop but was wondering, what is the best method to eliminate/minimize scarring? Being new at this, I am mildly concerned about long term damage.

I have looked up a couple of older posts. Found great stuff on how to control the issue short term but no long term prognosis.

I've had some pretty nasty cuts and I've found that the consistent application of Neosporin (or other antibiotic ointment) once the bleeding is controlled to really help.
