    THe main thing is the sharpness of your blade. You should be able to get great shaves off of either. Which one you prefer will tend to be personal preference (feedback or no)--very individual thing.

    A wedge (being heavier & having more inertia) might have a slightly easier time cutting if less than optimally sharp, but I don't recommend it. Dull edges are an invitation for nicks, cuts & ingrowns, because you'll be using too much pressure to force the blade through. Ingrowns because the razor will be pulling before it cuts--same as the cartridges we all know & despise.

    Thanks everyone. It now seems I should focus on restoring an old Taylor Eye Witness instead of a few other that are sitting on the bench. I need more wedges!

    I should spend spend more time in here. Normally I'm I'm in the various rock forums.
