Shaving with a Thiers-Issard full hollow singing?
How many have shaved with a Thiers-Issard Full-Hollow singing razor and what was your impression? Does Dovo also make a Full-Hollow singing razor? I have heard many nice things about Thiers-Issard.

Thanked: 3I tried singing last time I shaved and I kept slicing myself. To have a razor that will sing for you, I'm sure would be great.

I replied to another thread to give my take on the Dovo Prima Klang, I'll just copy what I said in the other thread.
Extra hollow blades in my opinion should only be used by experienced shavers. There really can't be any mistakes when it comes to shaving. I am used to old Sheffield steel and the second time I used the Prima Klang my angle wasn't just right on my chin, and i almost sliced a chunk of my skin clear off. Luckily the styptic held it together until it stuck. Took about a week to stop bleeding.
These extra hollows allow for some unreal maneuvering, but without perfect angles and pressure IMO they can cause damage a lot easier than say a half hollow or wedge. I have been straight shaving since I was 16, so having 12-13 years experience allowed me to adapt to this grind. So if there are any beginners reading this, take my advice and get a blade with a heavier grind, Your face will thank you for it. But by all means when you're ready buy the Prima Klang, I think it's one of Dovo's greatest razors, new or vintage.

TBH, I have never been able to identify the "singing razor" as anything but a meaningless slogan. Advertising is all it is AFAIC. I happen to like TI razors better but I like Dovos too. It is almost like a Ford, Chevy or Dodge thing. Basically the same with subtle differences that make one or another a favorite for different individuals. At the top or the bottom of the price points I don't think there is a lot of difference in quality of the products.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Am I seeing double, or did you just start a thread about this exact topic two days ago under shaving equipment. There is also a rating on this razor in the reviews on the full hollow as well.

Gibbs,
My C135 Full-hollow 'Evide Sonnant' 5/8 is on the 'fatter' side of full hollow ground, and much less hollow ground than my Dovo Prima Klang.
On the face I have not noticed any significant blade flex from the C135 TI.
For me, the C135 TIs give an excellent shave, as does the Prima Klang
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

Well, it's close. Kind of like fishing. Ever fish? If I get a few nibbles on this bank of the pond, mabye I need to move to a different spot and try there, or even different ponds if I'm not getting what I might be looking for. I'm a member of 2 other forums on Straight Razors, and I have posted similar over at those ponds...er.. forums. The previous query was kind of in a hardware section, Razors, where this one is more "Shaving Techniques" where I hope to get better bites on the "hands on" of those who have actually used singing - aka - Full or Extra Hollow razors by these makers. As far as I know, these are the only ones, except for maybe some vintage razors, that give a blade so thin that some have expressed it is almost like shaving with a DE on a handle. One guy even mentioned slicing off a little chin because of it's different characteristics, and that was a guy that had been shaving with straights for quite a while, 10 years I think.
I think I looked at that review, but what I was looking for was actual users that have a love OR hate for these Extra-Hollow Ground razors.~~ Vern ~~
