Shaves are really coming along

I'm a little over a month into my straight shaves, and it's going better than I had hoped for.

Yesterday was my first near, almost, perfectly BBS shave, with no nicks anywhere. I was finally able to get a better shave with straight verses the DE razor.

Coming along, slowly, but better every day. I am still having a little trouble with my right side ,it’s hard for me to see in the mirror.

I have a lot more to learn and improve with my technique, but the shaves are what it is all about.

I am waking up one hour early now to get a good shave before work.

I still get better shaves with my Pro Fusion and DEs than I do with my straight razors.

But I have NEVER thought about getting up early to get in a DE or cartridge shave. That's what is different about straight razor shaving!

This moment is one for celebration. It's a great feeling when you realize your shaves are turning a corner, and its due to your practice and technique.

A question about your right side: Have you thought about shaving with two hands, dominant and non-dominant. Many of us have had the same vision problems, but have all but rid ourselves of them by teaching your non-dominant hand the same muscle control.

It may be a bit nerve wracking, but I bet a month ago you'd have said the same thing about holding a 3 inch ridiculously sharp piece of metal close to your cheek.
