    Default dovo shavette red insert

    do not know how to take red insert out of dovo shavette it almost seems to be glued in is there a trick to it ?

    No trick involved. It could be the aluminum holder has gotten pinched. But here is what I would do. Open, place the heel end of the red plastic on the edge of your workbench and apply downward pressure removing the insert.

    Then, throw it away.

    Get the green insert and use ridgid back Personna blades. The firmer blades are easier to contron imho.

    Lots of members don't like the shavette, but until I improve my stropping and honing skills it will stay in my rotation.

    Default Surviving the red insert

    I survived the red insert for weeks of shaving, and have the Shavette to thank for improving my technique to the point where moving on to proper straights was not a problem. I still miss its sharpness.
