problem
after shaving with a straight for the last 6 or so months I have now found my biggest problem I have is hitting the edge on the s-n stroke on the bottom of my glasses frame ,its most annoying.
So far I have been lucky enough not to damage the edge , not so I notice at least .
I know some enlightened souls will say remove your glasses ,which would be fine if I want to remove my nose
Regards peter

Well, there's contact lenses or maybe smaller frames. It just depends on how dedicated you are to shaving with a straight.

I wear glasses but I can't imagine trying to shave with them on while using a straight. It kind of like taking a shower with your clothes on. (and no wise guy responses to this)

I take my glasses off as well, but my vision is still pretty fair without them.

Have you tried a magnified mirror? I use a 5 X and it really helps.

I don't wear glasses while shaving, so this is without practical experience:
Have you tried tilting them forward a little (so the ear pieces are lifted up and away from your ears).
This way, the ear pieces are out of the way, and the lower edge of the lenses is higher and deeper in the eye socket, a place that doesn't have that many whiskers to shave, usually.
This only works well if you have enough hair to hold the glasses, though.

thanks for all the advice ,I decided to give it a go and try and shave without glasses. I had finished honing the big wedge I have been working for the last 3 days, any way i didn`t even get one pass in , managed to shove the point straight into my cheek about an inch above the jaw on the left side , the cut is just under an inch long , bled like a stuck pig. It is the best one since I started using a straight
I have come to the conclusion that I will be keeping my spec-ta-cackles on during shaving and take extra care on the s-n pass
Kind regards peter

Ouch!
Next time you try, instead of going in with a shave angle, you may want to conside laying the razor flat on your side burns. Only then, raise the spine to establish the angle. this way, you won't need much vision to control the first touch-down.
