Thread: First real straight shave

Last night I think I figured out why I have always wanted to straight shave.
For the past few months I have practiced with a shavette to get the feel of what it would be like.
Over the week I received my first straight that I ordered from whippeddog. (which btw this thing was in really good condition and boy was it sharp.)
Well I let my beard grow out for a few days so I could get the full experience.

WOW is the best way to say it. I did 2 passes one WTG and ATG and my face was smoother then it has ever been. I did manage to give myself 1 little cut but it was mostly due to me being distracted by my phone ringing.

Other then that I think I am starting to become addicted!!! lol.

Great job Dobogo. It's kind of a rush the first time you actually shave with a straight. I've been at since Oct. 2011 and I still get a rush every time I get into the shave. I enjoy the prep and the whole experience. Hang in there.

Nice hearing how well it went, especially with your ATG pass so early. You should give yourself some credit too. You obviously did some homework with the Shavette and more.
