Default is my dovo shave ready ?

i've had just purchased a new dovo stainless inoxyblade steel, and i passed the HHT on the 3rd one.
are all brand new dovo shave ready?
do i need to strop a new razor?

    what is inoxyblade steel?

i heard that steel razor is harder to hone than carbon, and im new to this, did i start with the wrong razor to learn as a newbie?

    THANX for the information

Almost no new dovo is shave ready...Unless you buy from someone that hone it for you
You dont need to strop before first shave but i recomend after, and before second you need

Here is the SRP beginner's guide. Check it out plus Lynn Abrams suggestions for your first straight razor shaves. Can't say if your Dovo is shave ready or not. Give it a try.

Some vendors hone the razor before it comes to you but usually it's an option when you order. If it's just the factory edge then no it's probably not shave ready.

I would buy it from a vendor who will hone it.

If it hasn't been professionally honed then I would suggest sending it to one of the talented honers on SRP. Even if you get an OK shave out of it, when you do need to hone it you might be in for some trouble. I remember coming across a thread a couple days ago where a member found that Dovo set their bevels oddly and he had to completely reset it when he was honing it. I can't verify if this is true or not but it's something to think about. I personally had my new Dovo professionally honed and it's working out great so far.

    Hope everything works out!

Inoxyblade undoubtedly means stainless. Inoxydable is French for stainless

The easiest way to know for sure it is not ready is, did you yourself break the factory seal on the box... If you did, it is not "Fully Shave Ready"if it was already un-sealed then most vendors who hone them tag them with a "Professionally Honed" sticker...
If you are not sure, it gets confusing, some of the less than knowledgeable vendors if you ask will spout off the Company BS of "Oh yes there are all "Factory pre-sharpened" that makes things very confusing for the consumer...
Knowledgeable vendors will be very proud about telling you not only that it was honed, but which reputable Honemeister did the work...

Also no, SS razors are not harder to hone, they also still rust that is two words not one as in Stain Less not Stainless

If you got it from Straight Razor Designs, it was professionally honed, and it should be ready to shave. Most other online dealers, you have to specify that you want to pay extra for them to hone it for you. So if you didn't pay extra for the service, it might still have just the factory edge.
After you solve your honing problem, you will need to look into getting a strop, at least before the second shave. To find out why, check the Wiki. Check SRD or Classic Shaving. They have a wide price range, and they are all great strops.
