Thread: First Close Shave Today.....

This is the first time I've had a pretty close shave since I've started Shaving with a Straight.
I started with a shower and face wash, then I lathered up some Soap put it on and let it soak. Then I got a hot set towel and held it on my face for about two minutes (refreshing the hot water frequently) Placed mopped on some more soap and started shaving. I used my Dubl Duck SatinEdge to do the job. I am very pleased with the shave. Though I am still working on not getting razor burned. It was quite enjoyable. Thanks to all the advise I have gotten on the forum.

Sounds like a good result for so early on in the process. Close shaves took me a while and lots of practice.

Congrats man! Just the other day I had my first extremely close shave as well. It was the first time I got a legitimate ATG pass, and man was it nice. It's been two days since then and I can't believe how little hair has actually grown back.

Congrats on the close shave. Savor that positive reinforcement. I know you have heard this before in regard to the razor burn but pay attention to your pressure (keeping it very light) and your angle (don't get too aggressive). Relax, enjoy the process and have fun.

Yeah, I have been going at this for about 3 months now. Only about 1 with a sharp razor (which by the way I highly recommend you have from the start...lol) But yeah I have only cut my self 1 good time and a few little nicks. I am thuroughly enjoying this and I like the aftershaves I have. The towel makes it great
