Default How do you "shave of the day"?

I love the shave of the day and all the pictures.

When I was a club DJ I would plan out my sets well ahead of time so the music flowed all night.

Ive noticed that I have started planning my shave around Shave of The Day photo!

The range of the photos is great and I wanted to know how everyone goes about getting ready for their shave of the day?
Do you only post great shaves?
Do you plan ahead for the photo?
If you take pics do you take them before or after the shave?

    I want to know.

I haven't been as active in the SOTD recently. For me, when I post is more about if I have time and the inclination. I typically take the photo after I shave, but wait for everything to dry off (of course I dry the razor, but the brush handle and the various containers usually get wet). I usually shave with several razors to shave test (can't remember my last shave with just one razor), so for the SOTD I'll pick out one to three that I find the most pleasing/interesting too look at. And, of course, I make sure they are not razors that I'm going to sell, lest my photos be taken as advertising.

I usually start setting up the photo one way, but tweak it once I start looking through the camera. That's why I don't do it often anymore - it takes some time.

Great question, can't wait to hear all the answers.

What I do varies quite a bit, sometimes a spur of the moment thing, while other times planned at least a day or two in advance.
What really gets me going crazy in planning ahead and thinking out what would be cool, is the Themed SOTD.
That is a lot of fun

Then, of course, after honing up a razor, new or old, that will get to participate on that particular shave.

Another thing I try to plan ahead on, is what soap/scent/ASB to use on any given day.
It depends on what my plans for the day are. Hanging out with my mates requires other stuff than a day full of meetings and representation.
I am also very fond of using the same product line throughout the entire shaving routine. Soap/ASB/Scent
    Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I work in my home-office. So I have a little more time in the morning. My wife gave me enough space in the bathroom for my equipment.
Often she gaves me also some decoration or I take the book I read and arrange the shaving products with it.
It takes me only some minutes to take a picture with shaving and pipe-equipment.
Most interesting are the Themed SOTD-of course, but I love it to see all the great equipment of my friends too.
I love this forum and met a lot of friends here.
    Thanks at all.

    Thumbs up

    Hey Matt,
I've been asked this question before. For me, I usually take my photos ahead of time. Sometimes for the whole week. This is because I am more pressed in the AMs and don't want to waste too much time taking the photos (I can spend the time shaving). I just choose the setup I wish to use one day and use the photo associated with that setup. If I am not sure about soap/creme, then I just leave them off the photo...that gives me more flexibility the day of and I can choose whatever I feel like using. Of course, the post is about the shave and the experience, so it gets written after each shave (otherwise, it's nothing but a virtual shave ). regardless of whether it's a good shave or bad...it gets shared.

    Hope this helps
