Thanked: 4Finally getting the BBS shaves!
After taking slow, and keeping in mind the advice offered here, I'm finally pleased to see great improvement in my technique and I'm getting the BBS skin. This is a great forum to learn.
I still have some difficulties from time to time, I was wondering how others get around this?
1. If there is a tiny bump on your skin, how to you clear the hair around it without cutting yourself against the raised surface?
2. The hardest place to get a BBS for me is just under the ridge, between the cheek and the underside of my face, on either side of the the jaw. It is the only spot I can "feel" anything after a shave, I've seem to perfected all other areas.
So thanks in advance for sharing, just wanted to contribute my experience as well as hearing some of your thoughts about this.

Congratulations!
Well done!
To answer your questions, tiny bumps I tend to stretch out. Usually just pulling the skin a bit more than usual and I'm ok shaving straight over it.
The second question is harder, it depends on growth pattern and type of skin and jawline.
What i do in that area is to really press my head backwards. That tightens the skin and reduce the curve a little bit, and that is all it takes for me to get it smooth. I would also recommend stretching sideways, that can sometimes make the difference.
Good luckBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

It sounds to me like you are really in an advanced state skill wise.
If you mean bumps as skin blemishes I usually go around them. Things like pimples and such usually go away after a few days. For natural variations in skin geography stretching is the key but if they are extreme you may not be able to use a straight on them. It depends what the issue is.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Good questions. I think most of us Newbies face these same problems. Thanks.

Thanked: 0I am a noob as well but from videos i have seen by Geofatboy on youtube he stretches the skin and pulls it up so that it is actually on his cheek where he can shave it and when he releases it he doesnt even have to work around that curve under his jawline. i have been doing this and it seems to work well, it does take work though. pulling the skin up like that though at least gives you a flatter surface to shave that area on, i hope this is understandable and helps.

Thanked: 4thanks for all the input, i will try stretching the skin more or tilting my head, and taking more notice of what direction the hair grows in around those areas.

Thanked: 4narrowed it down to only the right jawline now that i can feel anything. what I did was just pull the skin up a little with my other hand when going ATG, worked well!
