Default Getting to shave my wife's legs

My wife, now that she is 8.5 months pregnant has decided to let me shave her legs tonight with my shavette. My only other razor that is shave ready is a 6/8ths wedge that she is a bit intimidated by so the little Shavette was allowed. If there are any wounds i'll either let you know when I'm out of the ER or get some photos

And success! Only one slight nick on the ankle and that was more of a skin thinning than a bloodletting. Used my Dovo Shavette with a Wilkinson Sword blade. I figured I should be nice and use uber to start with so I used VDH soap with some Real Shave Company cream. I also picked them because they are the least masculine smelling soaps/creams I have. She might go for the Mama Bear Spellbound Woods in the future. She really didn't like the styptic one the nick. Or the cold water rinse I used on the first leg. She asked for warm water on the second leg .

However, when I was done she remarked how smooth her legs were (It had been close to 3 weeks since she had last shaved). She also told me that for the next couple weeks at least I am expected to shave her legs. I think I might be able to talk her in to a DE for after the baby is born (I don't see her taking the time to strop).
Any recommendations for a good cream or balm to get her so she doesn't smell so manly when she's done?

Congrats the the successful leg shave! My girlfriend has been asking me to do her legs, and after reading your post I think I might give it ago.

Congrats on making it out alive! My wife recently tried my DE for the first time and loved it, now I will probably have to buy another one. As for cream recommendations, she really liked my Truefitt & Hill unscented cream-though it does have somewhat of a scent but it's very neutral.

For cream available locally I would look into kiss my face.
For a veeerrrrrry mild scented uber I would suggest Escential Lotions & Oils for their himalya soap and cream as well as their aftershave lotion.
For other balms nanna really likes cornhuskers lotion and whatever lotion she has around at that time.
All that being said she may appreciate an order of cream or soap for her many makers have ladies scents, lately nanna has liked mamabear's coffee, which is unisex. She also likes Al's shaving cream in many of his scents, but especially Bodega.

    Good luck, ReardenSteel,

All I have to say after this is:
    1) Ankles and Knees are the devil. Have her bend the knees to get them shaved more easily. Not only will it stretch the skin all the appropriate bits of cartilage and ligaments and what not will be in place on the top and sides of her knees.
    2) Make sure you have an alum block. My wife was really unhappy with the styptic. I was honestly kind of amused because I'm used to it on my face and thought it wouldn't sting as much on the legs. Either she's a wus or I'm wrong. I'm going to go with me being wrong because she's pushed out two kids with no pain meds. The second one was 9lbs 4oz.
    3) Warm water for the rinse. I prefer cold because it gets the pores nice and open and I feel it does a better job of getting the post shave treatment in. She did not. I have a feeling that most ladies prefer the warmth on the rinse.
    4) You'll probably have to add a teeny bit of water before you lather up the second leg. I did each leg in two parts. Ankle to knee, knee to where she told me to stop shaving. Just the lather sitting on the skin and in the bowl that long will cause it to dry a bit so a few drops of water between latherings will help as will a couple drops of warm water on the blade before you begin each section.
    5) She REALLY liked the warm lather. I just use a bowl but I kept it in the sink surrounded by hot water.
    6) Your blade will get dull. Quickly. I used a Wilkinson Sword blade that I had only shaved with 1 time. I had to put a fresh blade in for the second leg. I have a coarse, thick beard and can usually get 4 good shaves and 1-2 passable quick shaves out of each blade half. Since I haven't tried it with a "real" straight I can't say for sure but it seems like you might need to strop between legs if you're not using American steel. My Sheffield wedge has a hard time on 3 pass shaves unless I do CrOx, Web, Leather before hand but I try not to use the CrOx too much. My Torrey could probably go 2-3 shaves without a stropping. I've heard as much about Clovers but I haven't yet had a chance to get mine restored and used yet.

Job well done Butch! As for creams/balms for after the shave is completed, I just use my favorite lotion or body butter. You don't need anything fancy

But if I don't need anything fancy for her legs how am I to justify all the fancy stuff for my face?

Because she already has taken time to find out what works best for her. You are still searching for the "right" stuff
